It is helpful to determine the need for a survey (Some examples include: Boundary retracement, excluding a parcel, sub-dividing a parcel, easement retracement, easement creation, soil test grid, topographic, etc.). There are two options to proceed further. One option is to call (or text) and the other is to send a message through the contact link below. We try to answer the phone as often as possible but you may need to leave a voicemail and we will call you back. Sending a message, and possibly adding some helpful information about the project site (mailing address, map & parcel number, county/city, street name, and/or owners name, reason for surveying service), is the most efficient way to start the process of a land survey. Feel free to leave call back instructions in your message. Some instructions may include whether you prefer a phone call or email, a good time to call or not to call.
After determining the scope of services we will begin with gathering field measurements and necessary records. If there are issues with adjoining boundaries, all parties affected will be notified. If a parcel is being excluded/divided, then it will be necessary to determine the intent (intent can be expressed verbally, physically, literally, digitally, etc.). For boundary related services: Once boundary corners are found/placed, boundaries are marked as ordered (A standard corner/reference pin is an 18-inch long, 1/2-inch diameter iron rebar with a stamped cap and line marking is done with orange fiberglass reflector rods and flagging unless otherwise specified). Digital copies of documents may be obtained via email after completion. Final boundary plats can be recorded at your local registrars office and the legal description can be used in the process of transferring or updating title.
A soil test grid is often a requirement necessary for the construction of septic systems. If you are planning to construct a septic system, it is recommended to first contact the division of groundwater protection to determine if you will be required to hire a soil specialist to analyze your septic site. If you are required to hire a soil specialist then you may need to order a grid stake as a part of your boundary survey. We will be happy to assist you with this surveying service.
